Kiev, August 18, Interfax – Orthodox patriotic Ukrainians are outraged with the country’s authorities who ignored “barbarian aggression” of Georgian troops in South Ossetia and condemned Russian army.

“We urge to stop any kind of anti-Russian policy in Ukraine right now and to retire its initiators, in particular acting Foreign Minister Vladimir Ogryzko,” statement of the Ukrainian organization Pravoslavny Vybor says as it was conveyed to Interfax-Religion on Monday.

Besides, Orthodox community believes it necessary to retire the head of the national Ukrainian radio company and the head of supervisory board on television – for “kindling Russophobia” in mass media, “informational war against Russia” and “special cynicism” while covering South Ossetian war.

“Ukrainian authorities are indirectly guilty in death of peaceful residents and militants from the both sides including Russian peacemakers and destruction caused by military actions. Thus Ukrainian authorities are indirectly guilty in the crime committed by Georgian commandos in South Ossetia,” the statement notes.

Its authors stress, such policy not only contradicts the opinion of “the majority of Ukrainian people, who want to live in peace and friendship with their Russian brothers of the same faith,” but also “the Christian conscience” Viktor Yushchenko often “referred to”.
